Aiyedatiwa Pledges To Dualise Idanre-Akure Road If Voted Into Power In November Election

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has pledged to dualise the Akure-Idanre road if elected in the upcoming governorship election on November 16.

Addressing residents during his campaign visit to Idanre Local Government on Wednesday, Aiyedatiwa promised comprehensive development across the area.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Aiyedatiwa is running as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the election. He highlighted the benefits of the proposed road project, emphasizing its potential to improve transportation and attract investors, particularly those interested in exploring the tourism potential of the scenic Idanre hills.

OAU Ex-Student’s Murder: Appeal Court Adjourns Judgment on Adedoyin’s Death Sentence

The Court of Appeal in Akure, Ondo State, has adjourned its judgment in the case concerning the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a postgraduate student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Recall, Adegoke’s death occurred between November 5 and 7, 2021, at the Hilton Hotel and Resort, where he had lodged.

A three-member panel, led by Justice Olufemi Akeju, stated that the judgment date would be communicated to the legal representatives, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) and Mr. Kehinde Eleja (SAN), following the adoption of their written submissions.

The case was brought to the appellate court by Chief Ramon Adedoyin, who was previously sentenced to death by an Osun State High Court in Osogbo for Adegoke’s murder. The lower court had found Adedoyin, along with two hotel employees, guilty based on circumstantial evidence indicating that Adegoke was killed during his stay at the hotel owned by Adedoyin.
