Former Anambra State Governor, and Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) during the 2023 general election in Nigeria, Peter Obi has paid a new year visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Obi, who took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to make this known, said, he travelled from Abuja to Lagos to visit a father figure, leader and former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Olusegun Obasanjo.
Obi said, “Yesterday, I travelled from Abuja to Lagos to visit a father figure, Leader, and Former President of Nigeria, His Excellency Olusegun Obasanjo, to wish him a happy new year and also deliberateded on issues of national concern. Like always, I appreciate and enjoy his fatherly words of advice and kind guidance.

According to Obi, former President Olusegun Obasanjo remains one of the leaders under whom this nation saw tremendous growth,
“President Obasanjo remains one of the leaders under whom our nation saw tremendous growth. To date, he continues to add his voice of wisdom to solving the many challenges facing us as a nation. I wish him and his family abundant health and happiness in the new year and beyond as he continues to contribute to our national development.
“A New Nigeria is POssible.” Said, Obi.
Recall, in a related development, former Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Obi had also paid a new year visit to former military President, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) in Minna, Niger State.
Obi took his official X handle to made this known on Thursday.
Obi said, he was in Minna to wish former President Babangida happy new year.
