Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has suspended his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Wale Ajetunmobi over a tweet he released via his social media handle.
Ajetunmobi took to his X handle days ago claiming that some arsonists who torched the Television Continental (TVC) head office in Lagos during the #EndSARS protest in 2020 were “hunted and executed.”
Recall, there were allegations of extra-judicial killings during the #EndSARS protest in Lagos.
The Lagos State Judicial Panel on #EndSARS and police brutality had indicted Sanwo-Olu in the brutal intervention of the Nigerian Army at Lekki Toll Gate on October 20.
However, the state government rejected the report indicting Sanwo-Olu and the Nigerian Army.
Four years after the incident, Ajetunmobi, said on X that the majority of the arsonists who burnt TVC head office have been “hunted and executed.”
His posts were soon deleted but screenshots were taken and Nigerians asked him to explain.
Sanwo-Olu has now announced the suspension of Ajetunmobi as his media aide for “misinterpreting fact.”
