Ebere Nzeworji, an aide to Senator Rochas Okorocha, has refuted claims circulating that his principal had passed away in a London hospital.
Nzeworji assured the public that the former Imo State Governor is “hale and hearty.” He noted that Okorocha was actually seen at his Unity House office in Abuja around the same time that the rumor began to spread.
He attributed the false news to malicious intentions, questioning the motives behind it.
“One can now begin to wonder about the motives of those behind this fake news,” Nzeworji stated. “Senator Okorocha is a patriotic Nigerian who has served at both state and national levels with distinction, building friendships with well-meaning individuals across the country and the globe.”
He further emphasized Okorocha’s character, stating, “The former governor has never wished anyone dead and is always cheerful and caring about the wellbeing of others.”
Nzeworji urged Nigerians and the international community to dismiss the false information, adding, “We, therefore, call on all well-meaning Nigerians and the global community to disregard this fake news and be assured that His Excellency, Senator Rochas Okorocha, is hale and hearty.”
He also mentioned that Okorocha recently attended the funeral of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on November 1 and hosted Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu at his residence in Owerri.
