Economic Hardship: First Lady Remi Tinubu, NSA Nuhu Ribadu To Lead National Prayer

First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu and National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu will lead a national prayer session aimed at addressing Nigeria’s numerous economic and social challenges.

Chief Segun Balogun Afolorunikan, Director General of the National Prayer Forum (NPF), announced the initiative at a press briefing in Abuja. Themed “Seeking the Intervention of God in Nigeria’s Affairs,” the event emphasizes the need for a unified national approach to overcome these obstacles.

According to Vanguard, the programme is organized in partnership with both Christian and Muslim religious leaders, the prayer event seeks divine guidance and intervention in light of the country’s ongoing crises.

Afolorunikan stressed that collective action is essential for lasting solutions to the nation’s problems, underscoring the role of unity among Nigerians. “By the end of this prayer session, we believe that with God’s wisdom, our leaders and citizens will find the strength to confront our common enemies,” he said. He expressed hope that Nigeria would enter 2025 with a renewed sense of purpose and stability.

The prayer sessions are planned at two major venues. Muslim worshippers will convene at the National Mosque in Abuja for seven days of spiritual observance. During this period, 313 selected individuals will recite the Qur’an repeatedly, culminating in 2,191 complete recitations dedicated to national stability.

Simultaneously, Christian congregants will gather at the National Ecumenical Centre for a week of fervent prayers. Prayer warriors from different Christian denominations will direct their prayers toward overcoming the nation’s adversities and seeking divine blessings.

Afolorunikan noted the extensive outreach efforts preceding the event, which included consultations with leaders from the National Mosque, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President, and traditional authorities like the Sultan of Sokoto.
