Owner of Ibadan Collapsed Building Hospitalized After Loses Five Children

 

The Landlord of the collapsed building in Ibadan, Oyo State, Pa Bibire Lamidi, has been hospitalised following the loss of five of his children and grandchildren in the ugly incident.

This was disclosed by one of Pa Lamidi’s wives, Alhaja Yidiatu Lamidi. She lamented the incident, saying, “I was not there when the incident occurred. My husband told me that he had just finished toileting when he suddenly saw the house collapsing.

“His children and grandchildren were among the victims. My husband treats the mentally ill and other patients. Five of his children and grandchildren died in the incident. Some of his mentally ill patients also lost their lives.”

When asked if the building had shown any sign of cracks, she said, “The house showed no sign of weaknes.”

Recall, the one-storey building located at Jegede, Olunloyo, Ona Ara local government area collapsed at about 2am on Thursday.

Report revealed that many occupants of the building are struggling for survival on hospital beds.

The Oyo Police Command who also confirmed the incident said those rescued suffered varying degrees of life-threatening injuries and were receiving medical attention.

Pa Lamidi, as at the time of filling this report, still receiving medical treatment in hospital.
