The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) is set to implement e-invoicing to improve Nigeria’s tax administration.
The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced its plan to launch the FIRS e-Invoice, a digital platform designed for efficient invoice management, in accordance with the Tax Administration and Enforcement Act of 2007.
On Wednesday in Lagos, Dr. Zacchaeus Adedeji, the Executive Chairman of FIRS, made this announcement during the LCCI-FIRS Organized Private Sector Stakeholders Engagement, which focused on the theme:“Emerging Tax Matters”.
The FIRS boss who was represented by Oti Olaniyi, Acting Director, Medium Taxpayers Department, FIRS, emphasized that the implementation of e-invoices is essential for the nation as it advances towards innovating and improving its tax system.
He said, “Our collective efforts will pave the way for a more prosperous and resilient Nigeria.
“As we move forward, we encourage you to support these initiatives with constructive feedback and collaboration.
“By doing so, we can all build a stronger, more resilient economy that benefits everyone.”
