President Bola Tinubu promises Labour unions 36 CNG powered buses

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in addition to the approval of N70,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers, has promised to give at least 36 CNG powered buses to Labour unions, in order to ameliorate the high cost of living, including high transport fares in the country.

According to a post shared via official X handle of Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, this gesture was made known on Thursday during the meeting between Organised Labour and Federal Government.

Onanuga revealed that each of the CNG powered buses is with a sitting capacity of 100.

Onanuga said, “Tinubu to give 36 CNG buses to Labour unions.

“As a way of ameliorating the high cost of living by workers, President Bola Tinubu has promised to give 36 CNG powered buses with a sitting capacity of 100 each to the TUC and NLC.

“This was one of the highlights of the meeting between the Federal Government and the two central trade unions in Abuja today.”

Recall, on Thursday, at the meeting of leadership of the Organised Labour and Federal Government of Nigeria, President Tinubu approved N70,000 as the new minimum wage for Nigerian workers, with promise to review the national minimum wage law every three years.
