National Minimum Wage Law to be reviewed every three years.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday, approved N70,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers with promise to review the national minimum wage law every three years.
President Tinubu announced the decisions on Thursday in Abuja, at the meeting held with leaders of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC).
President Tinubu also promised to find ways to assist the private sector and the sub-nationals to pay the new minimum wage.
President Tinubu also pledged to give Labour unions 36 CNG powered buses in order to alleviate the current hardship being faced by Nigerian workers. Each of the CNG buses has 100 sitting capacity.
While reacting to Mr President’s gesture, Labour leaders applauded President Tinubu for the fatherly and good gesture as the President also promised to use his discretionary powers meet the demands of university unions demanding unpaid 4 months salaries.
