Pres Tinubu, PM Modi React To Assassination Attempt On Trump

Nation’s leaders across the globe have continued to react to Saturday’s assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump.

The Presidential candidate of Republican Party, Trump was shot on Saturday during a his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, he only sustained minor injury according to report.

While reacting to the assassination attempt on Trump, Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, took to their social media (X) handle to share their views and as well commiserated with the former US President.

President Tinubu said, “The attack on former President Donald Trump is distasteful and goes beyond the pale of democratic norms. Violence has no place in democracy.

“I extend my sympathies to the former President and wish him relief. I also condole with the family of the deceased and those wounded and wish them a quick recovery.

“Nigeria stands in solidarity with the United States of America at this time.”

In the same vein, the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Mondi said, “Deeply concerned by the attack on my friend, former President Donald Trump.

“Strongly condemn the incident. Violence has no place in politics and democracies. Wish him speedy recovery.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, those injured and the American people.”
