Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the President and founder of LoveWorld Incorporated, commonly known as Christ Embassy, has addressed the recent fire incident at the church’s headquarters.
Speaking during a live Sunday service at the church’s campground, Pastor Chris emphasized that the incident was not a mere accident but rather an opportunity for greater things to come.
In his address, Pastor Chris drew a parallel to a past event to illustrate his perspective on challenges. He recounted, “Nothing happens in the life of a child of God by accident. During the 2001 Ikeja cantonment bombing incident, the building vibrated so much and we thought it was going to collapse. I thought to myself that if it collapsed I was going to build a bigger, better one. At the end of the day it didn’t collapse and we called the engineers to see if there was any need to bring it down and rebuild but it was still okay.”
This recollection served to underline his belief in resilience and divine purpose. He then addressed the current situation with a tone of determination and faith: “Now that this has happened, we will build a bigger, better, and more glorious one and the devil will lick his wound.”
The incident has been met with swift action from the Lagos Fire Service, who were present at the scene to manage the situation. Fortunately, no lives were reported lost during the fire.
