The former governor of Anambra state and presidential candidate of Labour Party during the 2023 general election in Nigeria, Peter Obi has taken to his official social media (X) handle to react to the death of two industrious sons of Igbo, Ajulu Uzodike and Ferdinand Agu.
Obi, while reacting to the death of Uzodike and Agu, said, yesterday (Friday) was a very difficult and sad day for him following the shock news of their death.
Obi said, “Yesterday was a very difficult and sad day for me. I received in rude shock the news of the death of two illustrious and outstanding Nigerians, Ajulu Uzodike and Ferdinand Agu.
“Engr Ajulu Uzodike was a renowned entrepreneur who founded and managed several companies, especially Cutix Plc, which he founded . It is the first company to be quoted on the Nigeria Stock Exchange from the South East. He was a man who lived a life of integrity and embodied what Nigeria should be in terms of Entrepreneurship and Productivity. After receiving a world-class education in the USA, he returned to Nigeria to establish his business, create jobs and contribute to the economic growth and development of the nation. On May 27, 2024, when I arrived Dallas Airport, from Wisconsin, I learnt that he was hospitalised. I immediately told my hosts that the first thing I wanted was to go to the hospital and see him. Since then I remained prayerful for his quick recovery, until yesterday when I received the sad news of his death from his wife.”
He added, “Ferdinand Agu, on his own, was the former Director General of the defunct National Maritime Authority (NMA), now known as the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
“The reports of his death were rather devastating, considering that many who saw him the previous day, said he was hale and hearty and had no premonition of death. He lived a life of devotion to quality service to the public and his community. He was a consultant to many public sector organizations and a supporter of many noble causes and worthy ambitions.”
The former Anambra Governor prayed to God to grant the departed souls eternal rest.
“May God Almighty who called these two respected Nigerians home, at this time, grant them eternal rest and grant their immediate families, and all of us, the fortitude to bear their sad irreplaceable losses.” Said, Obi.
