The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has raised alarm that the venue of the meeting of the Organised Labour with the federal government’s officials has been surrounded by soldiers.
NLC made this known in a post shared via its official social media (X) handle on Monday.
According to NLC, the venue of the meeting is the premises of Secretary to the Government of Federation (SGF) in Abuja.
NLC said, “BREAKING NEWS: Soldiers are Presently sorrounding the venue of the meeting between Labour and Government at the premises of the SGF.”
Meanwhile, NLC added that any attempt to intimidate, provoke
or blackmail Labour leaders would be resisted
“Any Attempt to Intimidate, Provoke or Blackmail Our Leaders at the Negotiation table, Would be resisted and Strike action would further be prolonged.” Said, NLC.
Recall, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have been negotiating with the federal government the new minimum wage for Nigerian workers.
