Minimum Wage: Labour rejects FGN’s offer, to resume negotiation

The Organised Labour has rejected the proposed N54,000 minimum wage offered by the federal government

The federal government had earlier offered N48,000 to Labour as minimum wage, this proposal made Organised Labour to work out of the negotiation meeting last week.

Meanwhile, as the minimum wage negotiation committee reconvened their meeting on Tuesday, this week, the federal government led committee offered workers N54,000 minimum wage, the proposal which Organised Labour has declined.

The meeting of the minimum wage negotiation committee has been postponed to Wednesday.

Recall, the NLC Chairman, Joe Ajaero, had insisted on N615,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers, and a deadline of May 31, has been issued by Labour for federal government to finalize new minimum wage for workers in the country.
