Singer Portable Arrested Over Mercedes Benz G-Wagon Debt

The popular Nigerian musician, Okikiola Habeeb, aka Portable, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police in Lagos State.

Portable was arrested on Tuesday over a debt he incurred after buying a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon from a car dealer in the state and refused to pay the balance.

Report said, Portable paid N13 million for the SUV which cost the total sum of N27 million and he refused to pay the balance of N14 million.

Meanwhile, after several efforts to get the balance from Portable failed, the car dealer had to report the case to the police, and that led to the arrest of the singer on Tuesday evening.

While confirming Portable’s arrest, the spokesperson for Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said, “He (Portable) was arrested for the failure to pay the debt he owed, that is his G-Wagon. He deliberately refused to pay the balance. And that is up to N14 million.”
