Senate President, Akpabio allegedly barred more than 10 television stations, photojournalists from covering proceedings at the Senate

Report has alleged that the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday barred at least 10 television stations and photojournalists from covering the proceedings of the upper chamber of the national assembly.

According to the popular television presenter and co-host of AriseTv, Oseni Rufai, no explanation was given by the Senate for barring some journalists from covering the proceedings of the chamber.

“Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday barred more than 10 television stations and photojournalists from covering the proceedings of the chamber without explanation, in another sign of autocracy under President Bola Tinubu, whose administration has harassed and detained without trial at least two journalists in the past seven weeks alone.” Rufai reported via his official X handle.
