Dangote, Bua and other cement companies summoned by House of Representatives.
The House of Representatives has summoned Dangote, BUA, and other cement companies to appear within the next 14 days following the increase in cement prices.
This came after Dangote, Bua companies and others did not show up for the investigative hearing on Tuesday.
The House established a joint committee comprising members from the committees on solid minerals, Commerce, Industry, and Special Duties to look into the sudden rise in cement prices in Nigeria by cement producers.
The House also requested the presence of the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, before the committee as he was absent on Tuesday.
The minister has been instructed to appear before the House on Tuesday, May 21, while Dangote, BUA, IBETO, and other relevant parties are required to appear on Monday, May 20, 2024.
