I have always assured Labour Unions that they need not embark on any industrial action before getting their entitlements- Governor Uzodimma

The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has reiterated his commitment to prioritize workers and pensioners’ welfare in his state.

Governor Uzodimma, who took to his official X handle to share this, made this known at the birthday celebration of his Chief of Staff, Barrister Nnamdi Anyehie.

The governor said that he always assured Labour Unions that they need not embark on any industrial action before getting their entitlements.

Governor Uzodimma: “I have always assured Labour Unions that they need not embark on any industrial action before getting their entitlements and this I have kept faith with because it is an obligation and not a politica affairs. I restated this at the birthday celebration of my Chief of Staff, Barr. Nnamdi Anyehie.

“Excitedly, I shared with the audience, my measures and approach towards the payment of gratuity to our retirees, having automated payment of salaries and pensions. Interestingly, the payment which will commence soon, will be funded from savings we have grown, over the years, in a dedicated account.

“In sharing prosperity, we must put smile on the faces of our parents, who gave in their youthful days, serving our dear State. This will not just restore lost hope to them, but help build confidence to those on active service while check-mating against irregularities at the work place.”
