The Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker and Chairman conference of Speakers in Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has joined other prominent individuals in Southwest region of the country to comment on the recent invasion of Oyo State Secretariat by some Oodua nation’s agitators.
Ogundoyin: “The invasion of Oyo State Secretariat on Saturday 13th April, 2024 by Yoruba Nation agitators was top on the agenda of the State House of Assembly as we reconvened today after a three week recess.
“Under a Matter of Urgent Public Importance sponsored by me and supported by four other members, the State legislature described the invasion as barbaric, unpatriotic and a clear case of terrorism and treasonable felony which should attract appropriate sanctions and prosecutions.
“There was a call for everyone to be security conscious to avoid falling victim of some criminally minded people
“We commended the security agencies for their proactivenes, and charged them to further engage in intelligence gathering, extensive surveillance and also beef up security around Oyo State Secretariat, other Government infrastructure and Media Houses to prevent such attacks in future.
“The legislature also agreed to strengthen and fortify security apparatus in the Parliamentary complex to avoid being a target of attacks.”
