Ondo PPRO, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested and detained an Islamic cleric for allegedly possessing recently harvested human bodies. Oluwafemi Idris was found to have stored human parts in his residence, purportedly for ritualistic purposes.
As stated by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, intelligence regarding the incident was received from a credible source in January 2024. Acting swiftly, law enforcement officers apprehended the suspect and conducted a thorough search of his dwelling in the Akoko area of the state.
Odunlami-Omisanya detailed the discovered human parts, including hands, kidneys, hearts, a spine, and a tongue. She conveyed, “The suspect, identifying himself as an Islamic cleric, alleged that some of the human parts were provided by his associate, an Alhaji, who is also a cleric, and by one Samuel Kutelu. Additionally, he admitted to supplying three human heads to one Babatunde Kayode, an Oluawo.”
The police have confirmed the arrest of the Oluawo and Babatunde Kayode, while ongoing efforts are being made to apprehend the other cleric implicated in the procurement of the human parts.
